#Active March 16

In February one of my 30 Day Challenges was to walk every day and add a little running into those walks. My goal was to complete a 10K and do it under 1 hour and 20 minutes which would require a pace of under 13 minutes a mile.

I wanted to become more ACTIVE and the 10K would give me a why for the 30 Day Challenge.

On Saturday March 7th I entered a local 10K race called the Rumba on the Lumber 10K sponsored by the Robeson Road Runners. I am happy to report that my daily habit in February of walking from 4-7 miles paid off.

I completed the 10K in 1 hr. 16 mins. and 39 seconds. I also won my age group.

How I won my age group was more a result of as you get older the competition thins out versus my time was stellar. Glad I choose to stay ACTIVE. I still believe that exercise is a miracle drug.

If you have some time on your hands consider some type of 30 Day Challenge involving exercise that will make you more ACTIVE. Getting outside to walk run is good therapy.
