Warren Buffett-Oracle of Omaha
Buffett turned 91 on August 30th of this past year. He has the reputation as the best investor who ever lived. He began investing at the age of 12 with a little more than $100. On just about every list that includes the top 10 wealthiest people in the world he makes the list.
When it comes to being known as an ORACLE it pays to understand that definition. It probably is safe to state that Warren Buffett is known to provide wise and insightful counsel or prophetic predictions, especially as it pertains to financial matters. He has often been asked what is the best investment advice. He never hesitates “Invest in Yourself”.
Buffett’s father, Howard, worked as a stockbroker and served as a U.S. congressman. His mother, Leila Stahl Buffett, was a homemaker. Buffett was the second of three children and the only boy. He demonstrated a knack for financial and business matters early in his childhood: Friends and acquaintances have said the young boy was a mathematical prodigy who could add large columns of numbers in his head, a talent he occasionally demonstrated in his later years.
I found a fantastic biography written by Joshua Kennon on a website called The Balance. Here is a link to that article.
One interesting thing about Buffett I did not know was that he had an open marriage with his first wife, Susan Thompson, until her death in 2004. You can read all about it here.
