October 2026 several of us are going to take on the 30-Day Celebrity Alma Mater Coach4aday Challenge. Each day we will identify a celebrity and share where they attended college. For Day 25 it is on HUBERT HUMPHREY.

To say I have political ad campaign fatigue is an understatement. The fact that I have already participated in early voting only adds to the feeling. Between the endless television commercials and oversized campaign mailers filling my mailbox, my thoughts have drifted back to my high school days and the 1968 Presidential Election, when Hubert Humphrey and Richard Nixon were vying for the White House.

Hubert Humphrey lost that election, and my teenage memories framed by ads didn’t paint him as a vindictive loser. Decided to feature him today and learn a little more about his education journey. Discovered he attended University of Minnesota dropped out became a pharmacist in South Dakota but after 6 years returned to UM to complete his degree in 1937.
