For January 2024 several of us will be participating in the “30-Day 6 Degrees of Separation Coach4aday Challenge”-today we dive into connections between WILLIS T ALLMAN and P. Exter Blue.

There is probably no way for me to track it but if I had to guess I have listened to one musical group the most in my life. That was The Allman Brothers Band. The two Allman brothers in the band were Duane and Gregg and their dad was Willis T Allman a career military man. Willis was murdered in 1949 by a hitchhiker.

Founded in Jacksonville FL and Macon, Georgia, in 1969, The Allman Brothers Band became trailblazers in Southern rock music. Their distinct blend of blues, rock, and jazz, coupled with improvisational brilliance, garnered widespread praise, particularly through iconic albums such as “At Fillmore East.” The enduring legacy of The Allman Brothers is deeply intertwined with the intricate guitar work of Duane Allman, the mesmerizing dual drummers, and the soulful vocals of Gregg Allman.

Rules of the Challenge

Many people have heard of this concept. The notion of six degrees of separation grew out of work conducted by the social psychologist Stanley Milgram in the 1960s. It then became a 1993 film named appropriately “Six Degrees of Separation.”

Organizing a six degrees of separation challenge involves creating a chain of people, each connected to the next by a mutual acquaintance. The goal is to demonstrate that any two people in the world can be connected through a chain of six or fewer personal connections.

How to Participate

1. Identify the First and Last Person in the Chain.
2. Go thru the connections with a brief explanation.
3. Do this daily for 30 Days posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge

Day 27-Willis Allman to P Exter Blue

Five Degrees of Separation-Willis Allman-Duane Allman-Gregg Allman-Cher-P Exter Blue

1. Willis Allman was the father of Duane Allman.
2. Duane Allman was a fantastic slide guitar player for the Allman Brothers and was the older brother of Gregg Allman.
3. Gregg Allman was the lead vocalist for the band and was married 7 times. His third wife was Cher.
4. Cher was born Cheryl Sarkisian and was married to Gregg Allman from 1975-1979 that was her second husband. She had one child with Gregg named Elijah Blue Allman. He later changed his name to P. Exter Blue
5. P. Exter Blue has been the lead guitarist for the band Deadsy.
