When we consider taking on a 30 Day Challenge one bucket the experiences often fall into is self-improvement. Weigh loss, exercise, reading, and diet are just a few examples.

One piece of advice I have repeatedly read with any 30 Day Challenge as it relates to self-improvement is to remember you are attempting to create a new habit. Start out with new habits being 2 MINUTES or less to complete.

In the book “Atomic Habits” by James Clear, Chapter 13 is dedicated to this 2 MINUTE concept.

Atomic Habits by James Clear

The Chapter is titled “How to Stop Procrastinating by Using the Two Minute Rule”.

Here are a few excerpts.

“Habits can be completed in a few seconds but continue to impact your behavior for minutes or hours afterward.”

“The Two-Minute Rule states, ‘When you start a new habit, it should take less than two minutes to do.

So if you consider taking on a 30 day challenge start by dedicating just 2 MINUTES each day to your new habit. An example that is easy to follow is read a book. Begin by reading that book for 2 MINUTES each day.

You might be surprised when that habit is done daily it soon becomes automatic.

All it takes is 2 MINUTES.
