#Trillion March 19
The recent news about passage of American Rescue Plan has caused many to attempt to grasp how large 1.9 TRILLION dollars actually is. Sometimes a visualization helps us quantify just how large the number TRILLION actually is.

Last January I wrote a post about at TRILLION. I also discovered a new post on Page Tutor that also helps you realize how large a sum of money a TRILLION is. In that article there is a graphic of a man standing next to pallets double stacked on top of one another. Each pallet includes 10,000 bundles with each bundle worth $10,000. Each bundle contains one hundred $100 dollar bills. Each pallet is worth almost 100 Million Dollars. If you stacked enough pallets together the image below would be a TRILLION dollars.

There are a number of pandemic related issues that a TRILLION dollars is attempting to repair. I don’t want to discount that but I cannot forget that there are issues at stake when you borrow a TRILLION dollars. The money required for the American Rescue Plan will need to be borrowed by the US Government. I possess novice economic knowledge but I do realize that money does not grow on trees. As a country we all are seeking relief from a wide variety of issues and people want relief but we all need to be reminded that the relief is not free.
I suggest everyone give an article by Al Tompkins on Poynter a read. It is titled “Where does the government get 2 TRILLION Dollars from.” It points out a fact lost on many of us that we are borrowing 1.9 TRILLION dollars.
