For December 2023, several of us are participating in the “30-Day ANATOMY Coach4aday Challenge.” My choice today is the THENAR.

During this challenge, the participants select a bone or muscle in the human body, providing details about its location and physiological significance.
How the Challenge Works
- Identify one anatomical part of the body.
- Describe what its purpose is.
- Describe where it is located.

Identify Your Choice
Today my selection is actually a group of muscles called the Thenar.
Purpose
The thenar muscles, located at the base of the thumb, play a crucial role in controlling thumb movements and enabling precision grip. These muscles allow you to grasp objects between your thumb and fingers, contributing to activities such as writing, holding a tool, or picking up small items.
Location
