On Saturday I had some time on my hands and I decided to take on the Triple Overhand STOPPER Knot. Learning this knot is part of the 30 Day Knot Tying #Coah4dayChallenge.

Rock climbing is not my thing but this knot apparently is used in that activity. A STOPPER knot is any knot tied at the end of a rappel rope that prevents a climber from rappelling off the end of the rope. Another purpose is to tie at the end of a rope to prevent the entire rope from slipping thru a hole or a block. Sometimes this is called a barrel knot due to it looking like a barrel when completed.

Look below and you will see my Triple Overhead STOPPER Knot. My knot’s purpose was to prevent the rope from passing thru a couple of holes. I used red paracord to tie the knot. Success came my way thanks to a great video and three attempts.
