This week our host Jim Adams for Song Lyric Sunday has provided the prompt of “A song by a band that you wish were still together”. https://jimadamsauthordotcom.wordpress.com/2022/10/15/sadly-missed/

Please consider carving out time to read the posts of other bloggers who responded to this music challenge. You will hopefully discover new songs, revisit an old favorite and it is quite possibly learning something interesting.

The Band-“The Shape I’m in”

In 1999 when Rick Danko the bassist and songwriter for The Band died the group never performed again. For 7 years (1968-1975) this group was at the top of the music world.

My song I selected is titled “The Shape I’m in” and was written by Band guitarist Robbie Robertson some say about pianist Richard Manuel. On this track Manuel played the clarinet.
