In sports a specific number of players get to begin the game, contest, or match by being in the starting LINE-UP.

In the game of basketball, the head coach has to identify five players to begin the game. For football and soccer, it is eleven. There is often a coaching strategy to who begins the game in each sport as a starter.

During my time as a college basketball coach the LINE UP used by opposing coaches would be based on a number of factors. Some of them included injuries, matchups, discipline problems, and believe it or not a hunch. Often times a coach playing a hunch would roll out some unconventional starting LINE UP that had flaws.

Success in any team endeavor requires that each member of the team can perform certain fundamentals and create a cohesive chemistry.

Leadership Team Line Up Qualifications

When you are building a leadership team you need to consider having an “Inner Circle”. This “Inner Circle” becomes your teams’ lineup. Those members need to possess the fundamentals of your profession and some important values.

Five values to consider before someone gets entered into the leadership lineup include:

1. Do you see POTENTIAL in them?
2. Do they bring a POSITIVE energy to you?
3. Do they support you PERSONALLY?
4. Do they PRODUCE results?
5. Are they a PROVEN leader who can develop other proven leaders?
