Kick Drum Heart

This month I am participating in a 30-Day State Trivia Challenge. The goal is you select a state you have never lived in and for 30 consecutive days post some interesting fact about that place. My state is Wyoming and I wanted to find a way to merge Song Lyric Sunday and that 30 Day Challenge together.

In selecting the Avett Brothers song “Kick Drum Heart” I accomplished that. The song Kick Drum Heart has been played over 500 times by the band in live concerts. For those that do not know a Kick Drum is standard for any percussionist. This song was featured on their album called “I and Love and You“

The Avett Brothers consist of two siblings Scott (banjo) and Seth Avett (guitar). Scott was born in Cheyenne WY so that takes care of the 30-Day State Trivia. His brother Seth was born in Charlotte NC, and both were raised in Concord NC. In addition to the two brothers, other members include Bob Crawford and Joe Kwon. Mike Marsh, Tania Elizabeth and Bonnie Avett-Rini.
