This week Jim Adams for Song Lyric Sunday has given us the prompt of “Feature a song by a group or an artist that surprisingly never reached #1 on the charts”

The goal this week is a little different. The focus in not on title or lyrics but profile a song that was recorded by an extremely popular artist but never had a #1 song.

Like a Rolling Stone

Sometimes a song just pops into my head when I see the weekly prompt for Song Lyric Sunday. That did not happen this week because I needed Google to help me. Look below on what artists or bands never had a Billboard Top 1 Hit.

Bob Dylan is my artist, and he actually has had two Number 2 hits but never a Number 1. Like a Rolling Stone which was released in 1965 and appeared on the Highway 61 Revisited album is my choice. The song is about a debutante who falls from society graces. Ironically this song has been performed the second most times during Bob Dylan live shows.
