October 2026 several of us are going to take on the 30-Day Celebrity Alma Mater Coach4aday Challenge. Each day we will identify a celebrity and share where they attended college. For Day 19 it is on SHERYL CROW.

Sheryl Crow broke my streak of writing about celebrities who either dropped out of college or did not finish at all. She grew up in Missouri and enrolled at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Even more remarkable in comparison to others she completed her degree in Music Education in 4 years.

As a recording artist she is known for blending rock, pop, country, and folk music. Her breakthrough album, Tuesday Night Music Club (1993), featured the hit single “All I Wanna Do” and earned her three Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year. Over her career, she has won nine Grammy Awards, sold millions of records worldwide, and produced other popular songs such as “If It Makes You Happy,” “Everyday Is a Winding Road,” and “Soak Up the Sun.”

Why They’re Famous: In addition to her music the tabloids have also covered her high-profile relationships, including her engagement to cyclist Lance Armstrong. Interesting Fact: Before becoming a Grammy-winning recording artist, Sheryl Crow worked as a music teacher and sang commercial jingles, including one for McDonald’s in which she reportedly earned $40,000.
