For the 30 Day Album #Coach4adayChallenge today I listened to John Mellencamp 8th studio album called SCARECROW.

This album was released in 1985 and included a number of songs I really enjoy including “Lonely O’ Night” “R.O.C.K in the USA” and “Small Town“. Songs that are not on this album that are also favorites of mine include “Crumblin Down,” “The Authority Song, “Paper In Fire,” “Check It Out,” “Cherry Bomb,” “Pop Singer,” “Pink Houses”, and “Jackie Brown.”

Some people will refer to him as John Cougar Mellencamp but whatever you call him please know he has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2008).

John Mellencamp continues to live and work in Bloomington, Indiana. He is the father of three daughters, Michelle, Teddi Jo and Justice and two sons, Hud and Speck. In addition to music he is also an accomplished painter.

Discography

One surprise song on this disc was “Rumbleseat” which I had not heard or remembered listening to. Mellencamp grew up in Seymour IN and the music video “Small Town” captures some images from his birthplace along with Belmont and Bloomington IN.

This was a great listen.
