#Refinishing February 8

There are so many quotes about making superficial judgements. “You can’t judge a book by a cover”, “Beauty is the eyes of the beholder” and “Still waters run deep”. It is often hard to look at something and imagine what it could become if it got REFINISHED or transformed.

My friend Kent Chavis of Southern Premier Hardwood has to do that to make a living. He looks at floors that most of us would say are ugly or too far gone to be saved. For instance a floor like this that he choose to REFINISH.

Most of us without the expertise, tools, or skill set would doubt that the existing floor above could be saved. It would have to be torn out and replaced with something new. Yet this floor was saved because of the fantastic REFINISHING job Kent did. He got rid of all the crap on the surface and let the beauty of the wood become the new impression.

Here is what the floor looked like when he was done.

We all need to realize that everything and everyone that may be tarnished doesn’t necessarily need to be discarded. Sometimes the magic is believing that what a person or an object needs is REFINISHING.

It is paramount that we learn the power of REFINISHING ourselves as we move thru life. We don’t need to give up when external crap piles up. We just need to realize when we scrape away the build up surface grit and grim we have lots of natural beauty inside. It is not easy work but it is very rewarding work.

Decide to REFINISH part of your life today.
