For February 2024 several of us will be participating in the “30-Day RE Coach4aday Challenge”. The challenge involves utilizing a word that includes the prefix Re. Today my word is RECAPITULATE.

Sometimes a word just sounds so perfect when it is part of a brief address to any type of audience. One of those words for me is RECAPITULATE. Which when used as a verb simply means to summarize and state again the main themes of the presentation.

Here is a link on how that word is properly pronounced.

Rules of the Challenge

February 16-Guidelines for Public Speaking

As a leadership and executive search consultant I have learned a couple of valuable concepts in speaking to clients or an audience of more than one.

First remember the 3 B’s of public speaking-1. BE Sincere -2. BE Brief-3. BE Seated

The second concept is how to organize your presentation this can be done if you always remember the following

  1. Tell them what you are going to tell them.
  2. Tell them.
  3. Tell them what you told them. That is the part when recapitulation comes into play.
