#Purpose April 3

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Today’s post will have a narrow audience. It is the importance of daily PURPOSE for those that are retired or planning to be there shortly.

Advice on retirement is plentiful if the focus is financial planning. When seeking guidance on utilizing your time and mind it appears to be harder to capture. One source I have written about before is AdventurRetired where hosts Curt and Cindy Liljedahl share with listeners stories of people living a great retired life. They accomplish that because they have discovered what to aim at.

Retired Purpose

Finding daily purpose in retirement can be a fulfilling experience. My opinion is you need a daily plan for your time and mind. Here are some tips to help you stay engaged and motivated:

  1. Set goals: Create achievable goals for each day, week, or month. It could be something as simple as learning a new recipe or taking a walk. Establish habits to help you achieve each one. Reading Atomic Habits will help.
  2. Volunteer: Volunteering can provide a sense of purpose and help you make a positive impact in your community.
  3. Pursue hobbies: Hobbies can be a great way to stay engaged and explore new interests. Whether it’s painting, gardening, writing, or playing music, find something that brings you joy.
  4. Stay connected: Maintain social connections with friends and family, or join a club or group that shares your interests.
  5. Learn something new: Take online courses or attend workshops to learn new skills and expand your knowledge.

If retirement is on the horizon, make sure you don’t just have a monetary strategy. Your golden years need a daily purpose.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
