For today’s 30-Day Baseball Coach4aday Challenge post I am reporting on a pair of brothers who had the nickname POISON.

Paul Waner and Lloyd Waner were called “Big Poison” and Little Poison” while they played Major League Baseball. Paul was the oldest born in 1903 and Lloyd was three years younger born in 1906. The two of them played outfield together for the Pittsburg Pirates from 1926-1940 (note Lloyd did not play in 1926).

They are the only brothers elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Together, they amassed 5,611 hits. Paul collecting 3,152 hits and Lloyd accumulating 2,459 hits.
