People are not traveling so nights spent in hotels or motels are way down.
If you hear about or see a MOTEL 6 you might be like me and immediately think of the phrase “This is Tom Bodett and we’ll leave the light on for you”.
Motel 6 has a long running advertising campaigns featuring that phrase. MOTEL 6 ads continue to win awards and the lodging chain has grown from 200 to over 1000 locations across the US and Canada. Tom Bodett is proud to be the voice of this all-American brand and the only spokesperson they’ve ever had.
If you have never heard of it below are some of those MOTEL 6 radio ads. That phrase become iconic.
I never realized that Tom Bodett is actually a real person and also an author. I came across his name doing a twitter search on a quote on happiness. I want to repeat the man is an author look at this link for a list of his books. Quite impressive.
The quote attributed to him is also impressive to me and is spot on.
