For the month of October 2024 several of us are participating in the 30-Day World Series Coach4aday Challenge. Each day we attempt to learn something about some aspect of the World Series. Today I am focusing on MLB Player who is in the World Series Record books named LOU.

Louis “Lou” Clark Brock was born in 1939 in El Dorado AR. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals most of his career (1964-1979) and holds a couple of World Series records.

World Series 30-Day Challenge Guidelines

Like previous challenges there are no hard and fast rules to participate. There are a few suggested guidelines.

  1. Each day in October 2024 write about the World Series
  2. Share at least one fact about the event or the participants.
  3. If so inclined use the hash tag #Coach4adayChallenge on social media platforms

October 6th-Lou

Lou Brock played in three World Series (1964-1967-1968) and won the first two.

Here are some records he is part of.

Most Career Stolen Bases in World Series History (14): Lou Brock holds the record for the most career stolen bases in the World Series, with 14 steals. He achieved this over three World Series appearances in 1964, 1967, and 1968. He is tied with Eddie Collins

Most Stolen Bases in a Single World Series (7): Brock also set the record for the most stolen bases in a single World Series, with 7 steals, which he accomplished twice—once in the 1967 World Series against the Boston Red Sox and again in the 1968 World Series against the Detroit Tigers.

Perfect Stealing Record in 1967 World Series: In the 1967 World Series, Brock stole 7 bases without being caught, showing his unmatched speed and base-stealing acumen.

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
