Today for the 30-Day Movie Coach4aday Challenge the film chosen is about the LEAF.

Decided to watch a documentary located on YouTube called “American Leaf: Tobacco’s Last Harvest”.

Summary
I was drawn to this film because I had very strong memories of going to college in Eastern NC and seeing Tobacco Fields everywhere. I also can remember my first fall in Greenville NC smelling a sweet fragrance coming from the multiple warehouses in town. That smell was cured tobacco.

This one-hour documentary was very comprehensive about tobacco farming, curing, and harvesting. There is also a large portion of the elimination of the quota system.
For people of a certain age that grew up in the Tobacco Belt harvesting the leaf was the ultimate definition of hard work.
