As part of the 30-Day Curiosity Coach4aday Challenge in July, I have dedicated today’s focus to determining whether any US state does not require auto INSURANCE.

The mechanics of this challenge involve presenting a question and subsequently uncovering the optimal response.

July 15th Curiosity Question

Are there any US States that do not require auto insurance?

In the United States each state has different methods for verifying mandatory insurance coverage. Penalties for driving without insurance or failing to meet state requirements can vary. They may include fines, suspension of vehicle registration, driver’s license suspension, or even impoundment of the vehicle.

July 15th Answer

Before revealing the answer let’s talk a little about a motto.

The state motto where auto insurance is not required is “Live Free or Die.” It was adopted by the state in 1945. The motto reflects the independent and libertarian spirit historically associated with the state. It emphasizes the importance of personal freedom and the willingness to defend it, even at the cost of one’s life.

New Hampshire is the only state in the United States that does not have a mandatory auto insurance requirement for all drivers. However, even though auto insurance is not required by law in New Hampshire, drivers are still financially responsible for any damages or injuries they cause in an accident. Some drivers in New Hampshire choose to purchase auto insurance voluntarily to protect themselves and their assets in case of an accident.
