I had a word tossed at me in a conversation that I recognized but wasn’t quite sure how to define it. The word was INDUCTIVE.

I knew it had to do with research or some type of reasoning but when asked I could not explain. The context came up in a question directed to me. The probe was about my daily leadership and spiritual readings. I was asked did I utilize a INDUCTIVE approach when reading? It is hard to answer when you are not sure what that approach involves. So I had to research what it meant.

The first thing I noticed with Google was there many references to INDUCTIVE Bible Study.

The INDUCTIVE approach centers around a few steps. Sometimes INDUCTIVE is called the Scientific Method.

The steps that need to take place are as follows:

Observation-Collect as many facts as possible. Ask the W questions Who? What? When? Where?

Interpretation-Look at your facts and form a hypothesis

Application-Test out your hypothesis

INDUCTIVE is not the only approach. There is also Deductive and Abductive. the video below helps with some general explantaions.

Whatever reasoning you utilize today I hope it helps you get INDUCTED into a blessed state of mind.
