Today on St. Patrick’s Day they will be celebrating at one of the oldest if not oldest HOTEL in Wyoming.

Today for the 30-Day State Trivia Coach4aday Challenge I learned about the history of the Occidental HOTEL Located in Buffalo WY it was built in 1880. It has sure had its share of legendary guests and bar patrons. The list includes Buffalo Bill Cody, Teddy Roosevelt, and Calamity Jane. Additionally Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid used the hotel as a hideout staying there under a variety of aliases.

In the 1980’s after a hundred years of use it began to fall into disrepair. In 1997 Dawn Dawson purchased it and began to restore it.
