It has been my practice to use the 3rd of each month to feature what I call the “BLOG OF THE MONTH”. I profile a blog or twitter feed I follow and encourage you to explore it also.
Well today is Election Day and for those of us that live in North Carolina it will bring an end to constant mailers, Robo calls, text messages, and Social Media and TV ads for various candidates.
Over the past month even though I do not consider myself super interested in all the daily drama of a political campaigns I went searching for a North Carolina Political Blog. On a brumous (30 Day Vocabulary Challenge) October morning I found “Old North State Politics”
The blog is written by four university and college professors. The line-up includes Dr. Michael Bitzer from Catawba College-Dr. Chris Cooper from Western Carolina University-Dr. Whitney Ross Manzo from Meredith College and Dr. Susan Roberts from Davidson College.
The approach the four of them take in discussing politics stays away from emotional rhetoric and focuses on trends, issues, and analytics.
If you are obsessed with North Carolina Politics this blog taps into information and perspectives you may find intriguing.
In any election there will be winners and losers. In 2020 there is lots of interest and voter turnout in North Carolina. Old North State Politics will be a resource to see how each pivotal race turned out and why.
