#Biography September 1

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Today begins a new 30 Day #Coach4adayChallenge. For September the challenge is to read, listen, or watch a BIOGRAPHY on someone. For 30 days spend some time learning about other people.

This challenge can be simplified and does not require reading a Doris Kerns Goodwin Presidential Biography. Presidential books are wonderful but rather lengthy. The concept is just carve out a small amount of time each day to learn about someone new. That individual can be living or dead.

Just find 15 minutes and look at BIOGRAPHICAL videos. Obvious choices would include Biography.com and YouTube

If you want to read Wikipedia is a fantastic source of info. Listening to the life stories of people is also possible via podcasts. Here is a link to 35 unique podcasts that focus on BIOS. One in particular comes out weekly and is called 5 Minute Biographies.

Coach4aday Biography Challenge Guidelines

Want to join this BIOGRAPHY Challenge for September just simply follow a few guidelines.

  1. Give the name of the person you are profiling.
  2. Share a paragraph or two about why you are profiling that person.
  3. Include a link(s) to where the reader can get more info via a book, website, or podcast.

Gary Hoover-Owner of 60,000 Books

Gary Hoover is a man with a fantastic curiosity about a lot of things including business. He has a personal library of over 60,000 books and the number continues to grow. I learned about him thru a podcast called The Art of Manliness hosted by Brett McKay. Here is a link to that August 18, 2021 podcast on Gary Hoover.

What I found interesting was the physical challenge of owning that many books required him to purchase an abandoned medical office building with 34 rooms to store all of his books. Hoover is also an author that travels the world speaking to Fortune 500 executives, trade associations, entrepreneurs, and college and high school students. His focus is on how enterprises are built and how they stand the test of time.

Today Gary Hoover lives in Austin Texas and is held in high esteem amongst many of its residents.

Hope you will consider joining the challenge.
