Today’s post is a RECAP of the #Coach4adayChallenge for August.

August took on a lighter and more participatory approach than the previous 20 monthly challenges. It was very simple. Each day a prompt was given and readers could choose to respond. It was fascinating to read about people’s favorite teacher, first car, favorite fruit, their hometown, heroes, cereal, places they have lived, and favorite movie.

As in past month I am indebted to each of you for your willingness to share. Everyone qualifies for a virtual #Coach4adayChallenge Coin.

What 20 months of adopting a new challenge has made evident is the following. Practicing a new behavior daily can help you develop better habits. Our habits become learned automatic responses. Building new healthy habits takes time. A 30-day challenge can help to get the ball rolling, but full disclosure it may not be enough to make lasting change.

Here is something to keep in mind about these challenges:

Tomorrow is the beginning of a new month and a brand new #Coach4adayChallenge hope you will consider whether it can help you adopt a new habit.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
