#Accredited August 8

Just left Radford University yesterday after doing a Coach4aday leadership presentation for thirty talented leaders.

Radford University is ACCREDITED by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, specialist, and doctorate degrees.

In essence when a school, college, or university has been ACCREDITED it a former of quality control for students and the public.

Often times there will be confusion between ACCREDITED, license, and certification.

As I drove away yesterday I realized that the journey of leadership is like the process of becoming  ACCREDITED. To grow as a leader you have to go thru a self-assessment to see if you meet the standards of best practices. The subtle difference is we serve as the accrediting agency using our integrity and commitment to grow as a leader. We get to do the accreditation not anyone else.

The group I was with yesterday dubbed Team RAD is well on there way to being ACCREDITED.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
