Growing up in a Irish household there was universal acceptance that VAN Morrison was a great singer. Two reasons he was Irish and talented.

When I first heard him sing I attempted to determine what I liked about him. His singing style or “scatting” was just so unique. He made sounds that just went with the music. Listen to how he begins the song “Jackie Wilson Said” to get an idea of what I mean.

For the 30 Day Album #Coach4adayChallenge I choose his 1970 album called “Moondance“. The album contains ten songs including the title track along with hits like “Into The Mystic”, “Caravan”, and “Crazy Love”. The song “Into The Mystic” contains lyrics that mention a “Bonnie Boat“.

George Ivan “VAN” Morrison was knighted in 2016 at Buckingham Palace. Other interesting facts about VAN is he is a not just a singer but saxophone player. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. He has lots of fans including Laura Bush.
