#Spending September 10

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

I got thinking about all the stuff American have in storage. As a country we do a lot of SPENDING on a variety of items.

What Americans buy is divided into two major categories. First, there’s spending on necessities such as food, housing and clothing. Second, there’s discretionary spending on a wide variety of items. I went online and found out some interesting stats.

The article I found profiled an American family earning $63,000 and this is what I found out:

Americans love movies, musical concerts and sports events, and spent more in this category than they spent on goods and services for personal care. Total Purchases: 1.3%.

Pets, vet bills, food for animals-1.4%

Rent or Mortgage -31.5%

Doctor and Dentist visits –3%

Gifts for others-2%

In the vice department

Alcohol-0.9%

Tobacco-0.8%

Having the capacity to spend money is not something everyone possesses.

Probably the most important SPENDING habit we all have is how we choose to use our time.
