Today 30 Day Daily #Coach4adayChallenge prompt is CANDY.

If you want to participate today just share with everyone your favorite CANDY bar. Offer up a reason why you like it. Bonus points when you include a favorite memory associated with that particular sweet?

I will offer up my choice and it is a CHUNKY.

Chunky was introduced in the late 1930s by New York City candy maker Philip Silvershein, at the time made with milk chocolate, raisins, cashews and Brazil nuts. Today the Brazil nuts and cashews have been replaced with peanuts. Originally Mr Silvershein had his friend William Wrigley Jr. of the Wrigley Chewing Gum distribute his CANDY. In 1984 Nestle’s assumed the rights to the CHUNKY brand and changed the recipe.

In the 1950s, a Chunky could be purchased for five cents and even into the 1960’s you could grab one for a dime. It is known for it’s truncated pyramid shape and being divided into four sections. I loved grabbing a CHUNKY when I went to the movies.

Seinfeld had and episode where Newman’s passion for Chunky bars was profiled and used as evidence that he was responsible for Jerry’s apartment being infested with fleas.

What CANDY does everyone else want to share as their favorite?
