June 2026 several of us are going to take on theĀ 30-Day Movie Scene Coach4aday Challenge. Each day we share a YouTube clip from a movie and explain what is intriguing about that particular scene. It is a simple daily activity of sharing a Movie Scene.

If you have not seen the 1995 film “Get Shorty” you are missing a star-studded cast. Some of the actors in this film include Gene Hackman, Rene Russo, Danny DeVito, James Gandolfini, Dennis Farina, and John Travolta playing the lead as Chili Palmer. Lots of scenes to choose from but I went when Chili Palmer tells Bear (played by James Gandolfini) “So you are a STUNTMAN!”

This month marks the 78th consecutive month that friendsĀ Jeff NeelonĀ andĀ Jaclyn DonovanĀ have taken on some sort of challenge. For June 2026 participants simply commit to sharing one movie scene from a film. Each scene just needs to be accompanied by a simple explanation on what is happening or why it was chosen. Hope you decide to join us or enjoy the clips we share.

Day 10-So, you are a Stuntman!

Get Shorty follows Chili Palmer, a Miami loan shark who travels to Hollywood to collect a debt and unexpectedly becomes involved in the movie business. Chili uses his street smarts to navigate the industry’s colorful characters.

John Travolta delivers a fantastic performance as Chili Palmer, a role that perfectly showcases his charisma, confidence, and comedic timing. Many critics consider Chili Palmer to be one of the finest characters of Travolta’s career and one of his most memorable screen portrayals.

The scene I choose exhibits his confidence and comedic timing.
