April 2026 will take a slightly different approach to the 30-Day Challenge. Each day of the month, I’ll be participating in the 30-Day Tai Chi Coach4aday Challenge. What will be different this time is that my daily posts won’t be limited to that day’s exercises—I want the freedom to share more spontaneous and wide-ranging thoughts along the way.
I will still include the focus of each day’s Tai Chi routine, but much of what I write may explore topics far removed from exercise. Just as Tai Chi is designed to improve flexibility, I hope my writing reflects that same sense of openness and adaptability each day. For Day Twenty-Seven my focus is on ESCAPE.

April 27th-Choosing to Change versus Escape
What triggered today’s post is a quote that I read from a small motivational pamphlet written by Jim Rohn. That publication was titled The Treasury of Quotes.
Almost always when I have the honor to make a leadership presentation or assist someone with personal coaching change is going to be involved. Many are scared or fearful of change. When that happens our brains in attempt to protect us look for ways to escape rather than take on changing some aspect of our lives. Those escapes can be innocuous or dangerous. Avoiding the change is going to elevate stress in the long wrong even though the escape offers temporary relief.
Here is the quote by Rohn.
I find it fascinating that most people plan their vacations with better care than they do their lives. Perhaps that is because escape is easier than change
The secret to growing and becoming the best version of us is not escaping but working on changing.
