In November 2023, I’m participating in the “30-Day COMBO Coach4aday Challenge“. Participants will combine or pair two food or drink items. Today my combination is called the GODFATHER.

November 12th Combo of the Day-Godfather

In case you’re wondering, yes, the Godfather is a cocktail. It does get its name from the Academy-Award-winning 1972 film of the same name, which featured Scotch on the rocks in multiple pivotal scenes.

This 1970s-era drink calls for only two ingredients: whiskey and amaretto.  Blended scotch is the classic choice, although some people choose to use a single malt or even bourbon.

Michael Dietsch has a recipe for cocktails in his book called “Whiskey: A Spirited Story with 75 Classic & Original Cocktails”. In that book he puts his spin on the “Godfather”
