Today’s word for the 30-Day Quotation Coach4aday Challenge is WRITING.
When you do something over and over again you stand a chance to improve. Yesterday afternoon I did some calculations on how many words I have written since this blog began in 2014. Rough estimate is that I have written for 3,000 consecutive days. Each daily post averages 250 words. That means I have written some 750,000 words.
What happens to us when we start WRITING regularly? Adam Hughes did an article for Life Hack on that topic. It is about the wonderful things that happen to your brain when you write. Here is a link to it. There are 8 benefits he points out and I believe some of them have manifested themselves in me.
Reasons to Write
In no particular order here are some reasons I choose to write everyday.
- It has improved my vocabulary.
- To share something new I have learned
- It has forced me to think about new ideas.
- Finally, it has helped me attempt to apply a lesson I learned by reading Lao Tzu
“Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.”
