#Wal-Mart October 6

Sometimes a post on social media prompts my curiosity. That happened on Sunday when my friend John Rancke mentioned there was not a Wal-Mart located anywhere in Anson County NC. They went on to further state that it was the only county in the state without one.

North Carolina Wal-Marts

North Carolina has 100 counties and Wal-Mart has 192 stores in the state. I have posted an image of those locations below.

I agree that the list above does not include any stores in Anson County NC. There are at least three other NC counties that don’t have a Wal-Mart including Alleghany County. Clay County and Hyde County. Population for Anson is around 22,000 and Alleghany is half of that at 11,000. Hyde has less than 5,000 residents.

Anyone else know of a NC County without a Wal-Mart?
