For October 2023, I am participating in the “30-Day 30 Words Coach4aday Challenge” where the topic today is on TRADITIONS.

October 15th Topic

Today at the church I attend a long-standing tradition of hosting Scottish Heritage Sunday will take place. Back in 2016 I penned a post about New Year’s Eve Celebrations in North Carolina. The Master’s Golf Tournament bills itself as “A Tradition Like No Other“.

Traditions play a crucial role in connecting generations and fostering a sense of belonging and identity within families and communities. They provide a sense of continuity, offering a link to our cultural heritage and roots.

Perpetuating outdated norms called traditions can hinder societal progress and inclusivity. At the college and university level hazing would be one example. So, with much in life it becomes a balancing act of what remains the same and what changes.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
