For the month of October 2024 several of us are participating in theĀ 30-Day World Series Coach4aday Challenge. Each day we attempt to learn something about some aspect of the World Series. Today I am focusing on batter who holds the record for most times STRIKING OUT in one event.

It is probably not an accolade Cody Bellinger wants to own but he is the leader for striking out in a single World Series. During the 2017 World Series Bellinger who was playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers whiffed 17 times.

World Series 30-Day Challenge Guidelines

Like previous challenges there are no hard and fast rules to participate. There are a few suggested guidelines.

  1. Each day in October 2024 write about the World Series
  2. Share at least one fact about the event or the participants.
  3. If so inclined use the hash tag #Coach4adayChallenge on social media platforms

October 26th-Stricking Out

In the 2017 World Series here are Cody Bellinger batting stats from the series:

  • Batting Average: .143 (5-for-35)
  • Home Runs: 1
  • RBI: 5
  • Strikeouts: 17 (most strikeouts in a single World Series at the time)

Prior to 2017 the record was 13 shared by Javy Baez (2016) and Ryan Howard (2009).
