May 2026 the 30-Day Coach4aday Challenge will feature travel pictures. It is a simple daily activity of posting a photo of a place that you have traveled to or a location you plan to visit. Today it is the view at the North Carolina/South Carolina Stateline on the beach of the Atlantic Ocean.

This month marks the 77th consecutive month that friends Jeff Neelon and Jaclyn Donovan have taken on some sort of challenge. For May 2026 participants simply commit to taking or sharing one travel-themed photo each day for 30 days. Each photo just needs to be accompanied by a simple descriptor. Hope you decide to join the 30-Day Travel Pics Coach4aday Challenge.

Day 5 NC/SC Stateline View

North Carolina and South Carolina share a 334-mile border. This past January 1st, I walked south along the beach in Sunset Beach, NC, heading toward the Kindred Spirit Mailbox. When I arrived and looked farther south, I could see the Little River Jetty marking the state line with South Carolina—one of the photos I’m excited to share.

When we did the walk, it was 9AM on New Year’s Day. My wife and I were accompanied by a longtime friend Marilyn Prevatte who lives at Ocean Isle. It was a cold and blustery day, but it was still a great hike.

The photo below is taken thru some sea oats looking at the Little River Jetty which is at the top of the photo and represents the NC/SC Stateline. The water to the right front is the ICW.

Here is a second photo of my wife and Marilyn making entries into a journal that you leave at the Kindred Spirit Mailbox. The jetty is again at the top of the photo.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
