For January 2025, several of us are taking part in the 30-Day Song Lyrics Coach4aday Challenge. Each day we utilize a theme and post the song lyrics from a song that connects the two. Today my theme is on Begin/End/Finish/Start and my song is START ME UP.

In 1981 the Rolling Stones released their 16th album called “Tattoo You” and one of the songs on that disc was “Start Me Up”. The Stones also did a tour in 1981. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards wrote the song.

On October 9th 1981, the Rolling Stones’ â€˜Tattoo You’ tour made a stop at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles. Opening for the Stones at this concert was Prince, who was dressed in bikini briefs and a trench coat, his performance lasted 15 minutes due to extreme booing and the crowd’s throwing of beer cans. Sometimes an audience doesn’t recognize talent do they.

What is ironic was the song did not make much of an impact back in the 1980’s but Microsoft in 1995 changed its popularity. Windows 95 was coming out and the software giant paid millions of dollars for the song for their launch campaign.

Song Lyrics 30-Day Challenge Guidelines

Like previous challenges there are no hard and fast rules to participate. There are a few suggested guidelines

  1. Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, and explain, if necessary, why it connects to your daily theme.
  2. Please try to include the songwriters
  3. Link to a video so people can listen to the song
