#Recap April 30

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Today’s post is a RECAP of the #Coach4adayChallenge for April. This month it was 30 Days of Nature.

I want to first say thanks to a special group of friends that decided to give this 30 Day Challenge a try. The list includes Gary Aycock, Doug Reedy, Jaclyn Donovan, Owen Thomas, Jeff Neelon, David Ruth, Tricia Lynch Woodall, John Tanner, Debbie & Matt Thompson, Tony Jenkins, Linda Branch, Lee Ann Musslewhite, Jackie Clark, Doug Reedy, and Lyn Kennedy Tahoe.

To each of the names above they have earned the virtual Coach4aday Challenge Coin. I really don’t know what a few of you (Jaclyn-Jeff-Linda-Owen) are going to do with all these coins you have acquired but here is another one.

This month really reinforced what I wrote back at the beginning of April. My belief is that everything in this world has been created by one force. Everything in the world is connected to that one force. Life has a tendency to want to disconnect us from that force. Spending quiet time in nature is way to remind us we all are one. Observing, listening, and just being still in nature has a calming effect no prescription medicine can match.

The past 30 Days have now helped me create a habit to stop and observe not just rush on by. That is what 30 Day Challenges are all about. They are intended to stretch us and enable us to grow. I have been fortunate to see all types of birds including heron and hawks up close. The habit of observing has helped me increase my self awareness and gratitude. Those are not bad by-products for adopting a new habit.

Tomorrow is May 1st so it is on to a new #Coach4adayChallenge. Hope you will give it a read and decide to join.

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
