#Patience October 16

One of the things the 30 Day Knot Tying #Coach4adayChallenge has made me aware of is the importance of PATIENCE in learning a new skill.

Learning these new knots has required me to practice and also reflect on how I am improving. Over the past two weeks I have drawn some parallels to what we all are experience with the pandemic. It is amazing how things can change and improve if we apply PATIENCE Revisiting what we were experiencing in 2020 and comparing it today and I discover just like my knot tying skills things are improving in a lot of areas.

One year ago

On October 16, 2020 the Dow Jones closed at 28,606.31. Yesterday it closed at 35,023.06. That is an increase of nearly 25%. Many experts were predicting a collapse of the Dow Jones after the 2020 elections. For the PATIENT investor that is a pretty good return.

At the end of August 2020 there were 785,000 jobless claims filed in August 2021 it dropped to 363,000.

The NFL in 2020 had to reschedule multiple games in Weeks 4-5-6-7-8 due to COVID. That doesn’t appear to something that will happen in 2021.

On October 16 2020 we were still two months away from the first US citizen from getting vaccinated. Today 188 Million Americans are vaccinated.

Study after study has shown that spending time in nature reduces stress levels and promotes healing. All data indicates that people are flocking to outdoor spaces and parks in record numbers in 2021 over what occurred pre-COVID.

Before COVID most of us had limited knowledge or expertise on video conferencing. Let’s just leave this subject by saying many of us have earned our Ph.D. in how to use video conferencing. We now live in a Zoom world.

In 2020 in was estimated that some 1.2 Billion students across the world were learning exclusively remotely-today many school children have returned to learning face to face.
