Well today marks the MIDPOINT of the 30 Day “Do Something New Daily” Challenge for August. I have been receiving fabulous reports from friends that are doing this.  The reaction after getting halfway thru the month is small doses of exhilaration for each of us giving it a try.

Some of the new experiences my friends have been doing include the following.

John Rancke takes a different driving route to the same destination, many of us experienced an earthquake, how about swimming your age-Leo Bashinsky is 74 and he swam for more than 74 minutes, Jeff Neelon went to visit a tattoo parlor, Tina Bullard went without a phone for a few days, Patricia Fields is reading daily, Angela Sumner learned how to set-up a Zoom Conference Call, Sue Ann Johnson made an appetizer called Salmon Gravalax, and I performed car pool karaoke.

When you get to the MIDPOINT of any challenge or goal you begin to realize one of two thoughts. The first, is that you are making progress in creating a new habit. The second, is you are counting the days until you are done. I am hoping it is the former versus the latter for everyone.

The beauty of a 30 Day Challenge is helps you create discipline in your life. There will be obstacles to overcome but daily habits make it doable. Each 30 Day Challenge often tests our sanity and focus.

It is the small steps we have taken to get to the MIDPOINT that lets us celebrate at the finish line.
