#Magnificent December 30

In December 2025, many of us will take part in the 30-Day Rewind Coach4aday Challenge. Each day, we’ll rewind, review, reflect or—in my case—re-blog one of my nearly 4,000 posts that highlight experiences shaping us into better versions of ourselves. If you don’t have a blog, your reflections can come from a journal or even a meaningful memory tied to something learned, a goal reached, or a personal effort to improve. These daily habits of looking back will serve as a powerful springboard for taking on a new and ambitious challenge in 2026. Today my rewind is on what is MAGNIFICANT.

Engaging in 30-Day Challenges for the past six years has helped me grow my gratitude for the people, events, and experiences in my life. I have come to the realization I have a lot of magnificence. Not necessarily important to others but having great significance to me. Magnificent simply put means impressive. Back on November 10, 2020, I wrote a blog post on this concept.

Rewind-30 Day Challenge Guidelines

As with previous challenges, participants are encouraged to adapt the guidelines to fit their own circumstances. If you can, commit to sharing a rewind, review, or reflection during the month of December

  1. Rewind, review, or reflect on a past effort to improve, a lesson you learned, or a goal you accomplished.
  2. Share with a challenge partner if you have one.
  3. Join the conversation by posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge

December 30th-Magnificent

When we develop the habit of becoming still it allows thoughts of appreciation to overwhelm us. I sometimes smile as I think of magnificent people and events that have occurred in my life.

As 2025 comes to a close here are just a few of those lifetime moments for me.

Witnessing the birth of my five children-I have an honorary degree in Lamaze

Being a grandfather to four.

Retiring with no regrets just joy from 43 years of working in higher ed.

The trips with friends or just being with them socially

Being associated with all types of championship teams

Reading the about the successes of former players and assistant coaches

Witnessing all of my children and former players graduate from college

Getting out of bed excited about the day ahead

Having a purpose in life

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
