For September I am participating in the 30-Day Literary Lesson Coach4aday Challenge today the lesson is on the JOURNEY of personal growth.

Decisions to change something about your life means embarking on a JOURNEY. Many of these trips involve enhancing our character.
Previous posts I have penned shared that our character is a sum total of all of our habits. Deciding to add a new habit is not easy. Be ready to encounter the fear of failure and the reality you must give something up to begin a new habit. That is the fare a journey of personal growth charges.
Literary Lesson from Rick Warren
Rick Warren wrote a book many people have read. It is titled “The Purpose Driven Life“.

One memorable quote from this book is found on page 220 of my copy. It is about the change you encounter when you decide to go on a voyage of enhancing your life.
Growth is often painful and scary. There is no growth without change; there is no change without fear or loss; and there is no loss without pain. Every change involves a loss of some kind. You must let go of old ways in order to experience the new. We fear these losses, even if our old ways were self-defeating, because like a worn-out pair of shoes, they were at least comfortable and familiar.
Our character is a sum total of all of our habits. Trust your inner self that is telling you to go on a JOURNEY and change by adding a new habit to your life.
