I have written about GRATITUDE several time during my nearly 6 years of doing a daily blog post. The last time was a January 19 post where I focused on how grateful I was for the changes that had occurred in our world in comparison to when my grandfather was alive.
GRATITUDE is a great investment. I have found when we focus on what we are appreciative it seems additional things come into our lives to be grateful for. When we bemoan our troubles it seems more woes are headed our way.
Today the blog post is on techniques or habits that help grow GRATITUDE levels. I have found a number of great tips and want to share them. I am far from perfect and these tips help me.
I begin each morning looking to accomplish certain things in the first 90 minutes I am awake. I do my daily planning over a cup of coffee, write and publish a daily post, read scripture, and most important pray.
When I pray to GOD I actually utilize the acronym GOD to frame my thoughts:
G-Is for GRATITUDE-what am I thankful for-my faith-my family-my health-my friends-my experiences all areas on focus on.
O-To make sure I appreciate all the opportunities I have available to me. That includes time, the opportunity to grow and improve, and to serve others.
D-To dedicate my prayers to those that may be sick, grieving, battling addictions, dealing with professional or personal challenges, and most important help people grow their spirtual well being.
When we develop and grow our GRATITUDE levels it does many things. One GRATITUDE is the antidote to battle the poisons called envy, resentment, and jealousy. GRATITUDE enables us to be our best selves.
Here are three tips on how you might can grow your GRATITUDE levels.
- On a daily basis find three things you are grateful for before you begin and end your day.
- Think about one other person daily besides yourself that you are thankful for having in your life. Understand your emotions about that person. What have they done that makes you feel grateful.
- Decide today that the person is going to hear from you via text, email, note, phone call, or personal visit. Just share with them how thankful you are that they are part of your life.
