For the month of August, I am participating in the 30-Day Phone Apps Coach4adayChallenge. Today the focus is on navigation app called GOOGLE MAPS.

The goal each day is to explore a different application each month that I could use or experiment with on my iPhone or desktop.

August 25-Google Maps-Address Location

Google Maps is fantastic because it has over 220 countries and territories mapped including hundreds of millions of businesses and destinations.

Features of this app

Here are three things I love about utilizing Google Maps.

  1. Maps and Directions: Google Maps provides detailed maps of various regions around the world. Users can search for locations, addresses, landmarks, and businesses. It offers directions for driving, walking, cycling, and public transit, including estimated travel times and alternate routes. The turn-by-turn navigation feature guides users through real-time routes, provides voice instructions, and offers traffic updates to help them reach their destinations efficiently.
  2. Street View: Street View is a unique feature of Google Maps that allows users to virtually explore streets and neighborhoods. It provides 360-degree panoramic images taken from vehicles equipped with specialized cameras. Users can move around, zoom in, and examine streets and landmarks as if they were physically present at the location. Street View is particularly useful for getting a visual sense of unfamiliar areas before visiting them.
  3. Local Business Information: Google Maps offers extensive information about local businesses, including their addresses, phone numbers, reviews, photos, hours of operation, and more. Users can search for specific types of businesses (e.g., restaurants, gas stations, hotels) and view ratings and reviews from other users. This feature helps users make informed decisions about where to eat, shop, or find services in their vicinity.
