May 2026 the 30-Day Coach4aday Challenge will feature travel pictures. It is a simple daily activity of posting a photo of a place that you have traveled to or a location you plan to visit. Today it is the view and reaction of the FINISH LINE in a half-marathon.

This month marks the 77th consecutive month that friends Jeff Neelon and Jaclyn Donovan have taken on some sort of challenge. For May 2026 participants simply commit to taking or sharing one travel-themed photo each day for 30 days. Each photo just needs to be accompanied by a simple descriptor. Hope you decide to join the 30-Day Travel Pics Coach4aday Challenge.

Day 25-Finish Line

From 2000 to 2012, I was involved in training for and running road races ranging from 5Ks to marathons. In 2007, a group of us from Lumberton, North Carolina traveled together to compete in the Kiawah Island Half Marathon. Most people associate this Travel Picture Challenge with destinations reached by car or airplane, but sometimes the most meaningful destination is a finish line reached on foot. My photos today capture the joy that spreads across your face after completing 13.1 miles.

Here are my photos from that event in 2007.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
