Here are some stats and facts about Game 4 from the 1993 World Series. It was the highest scoring game in World Series History.
High-Scoring Thriller: Game 4, held on October 20, 1993, became one of the highest-scoring games in World Series history.
Late-Inning Comeback by Blue Jays: Despite trailing 14-9 after the Phillies scored five runs in the 5th inning, the Blue Jays made a dramatic comeback by scoring six runs in the top of the 8th inning. Devon White’s two-run double and a key single by Tony Fernández helped Toronto regain the lead.
Philadelphia’s Bullpen Struggles: The Phillies’ bullpen was unable to protect their lead, as closer Mitch Williams and reliever Larry Andersen struggled in the 8th inning, allowing the Blue Jays to complete their comeback. This game would prove pivotal as Toronto took a commanding 3-1 series lead and eventually won the World Series in six games.
