Today the theme for the 30-Day Podcast Coach4aday Challenge is COACHELLA

Let’s get the myths out of the way first. I am not some cutting-edge or current entertainment savant. Fact of the matter I had no idea what COACHELLA was. What I knew was that my nephew went there to work last month. I just became curious about an event I know nothing about. Decided to let listening to a podcast educate me.

Preliminary research enlightened me that it is a gigantic music festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio CA.

Day 10 Podcast-Anything Goes

Searching thru Spotify I found out that one of the most popular podcasts is Anything Goes. It is hosted by Emma Chamberlain a 21-year-old internet sensation I had never heard of. Apparently, the NY Times has heard of her because they did a feature on Emma Chamberlain.

Well Emma had an episode she released on April 21, 2022, called Coachella. She described the episode as a comprehensive list of pros and cons of attending. She provided details on long lines to purchase food, pee, poop, the cost of everything, how hot it was in the day, and how cold it got at night, and how any expectations of what you might experience would not be achieved. To be honest I didn’t get too many pros.

Discovering a list of the Coachella music performers for 2022 was a reality check for me. I have totally lost contact with what might be considered current on the American musical landscape. I did not recognize one single act and this podcast has confirmed one of my favorite quotes “I don’t know what I don’t know. The list included 100gecs, Amly and the Sniffers, and beabadoobee

Takeaways

This will be a short synopsis. Listening to Emma and reading what I could about Coachella I gleamed a piece of gambling advice I want to share. Don’t bet that I will be adding Coachella to my bucket list. That is a wager you’re going to lose.

Glad I learned about it. Pleased that I confirmed there are a lot of musicians I know nothing about. Satisfied that America is still place that has a lot of event diversity. Not everything that is popular is something I need to part of.
